Share a fun personal fact with us
I was a professional lifeguard for five years while studying law and commerce at university.
Describe your day-to-day role
I have at least two or three client meetings a day during which I partner with another member of the firm. We focus on enhancing existing client relationships and establishing new relationships by delivering ideas that showcase the wider thought leadership of Grant Thornton.
I travel all over Australia and love having the chance to work with wider partner groups across different offices. I am also in Malaysia one week out of every four and enjoy the cultural and social aspects of travel.
How has your career developed since joining the firm?
I joined as an entry-level partner and within a short time I was entrusted with building an indirect tax practice across Australia. I am now helping drive the strategy for indirect tax globally. Being a member of the wider indirect tax community at Grant Thornton has also provided me with opportunities to use global connections to build new practice initiatives.
My experience
“To succeed, you’ll need an opinion of your own; an ability to seek advice when you need it and a desire to work closely with clients.”
How does working for Grant Thornton help you achieve your career goals?
Having previously worked with the Big 4 and chosen a career with Grant Thornton, I genuinely believe we have the ability to deliver solutions for clients very quickly. We do more relevant work at Grant Thornton and always see our projects through to completion. I passionately believe Grant Thornton is now seen as a real option for clients, not as an alternative.
What advice would you give a prospective candidate looking to join Grant Thornton?
Look around, work out what you like, find someone who can help and have a go.
To succeed, you’ll need an opinion of your own; an ability to seek advice when you need it and a desire to work closely with clients.
What inspires you?
The challenge to grow our brand at personal, firm and global level.
